Subscribe to SSNS and support your public schools!

"Our new 'SSNS Supports Public Schools' program will send 40% of revenue from new subscribers to school districts or other Local Education Agencies designated by those subscribers. It's just that simple. Illinois school districts and other Local Education Agencies have supported SSNS since 1995. Now that we are able to be supportive of them in this small way, that is just what we intend to do." - Jim Broadway, Publisher, State School News Service

How the Program Works: Effective March 1, 2008, SSNS will devote 40% of revenue from new subscriptions as unrestricted grants to public school districts and other Local Educaton Agencies when the new subscribers designate recipients by completing Item 10 on our subscription form. The recipients will receive  revenue in quarterly payments, beginning on July 1, 2008, along with the names of the new subscribers designating them as recipients.

Also quarterly, in one of our issues, subscribers will be linked to a web page listing all those subscribers whose recent SSNS subscriptions have resulted in grants being delivered to the districts and other LEAs of Illinois, and the amounts distributed.

What is a Local Education Agency? It is a school district or a Special Education district or cooperative, or a Vocational/Technical Education district or cooperative. Here are links to lists: School Districts by County ... Special Education LEAs ... Voc/Technical LEAs.

Free Trial Still in Effect: Subscribers to the SSNS newsletter have always had the option of canceling their subscriptions rather than paying the invoice, if they discover after a couple of weeks that the product does not meet their needs. Because the districts' grants will be based on revenue received by SSNS, of course, no revenue will be distributed for subscriptions that are canceled. That almost never happens, however.
